Sterling Heights is home to the Freedom Hill county park, located on
Metropolitan Parkway east of Schoenherr Road. It covers hundred acres of land
which encompasses a number of picnic areas, walking trails, playgrounds and

registration. WII Games is a museum that gives information about the history of
Michigan State.
Sterling Fest Art & Jazz Fair is an arts and crafts fair
which includes various entertainment programs such as Meijer Laser show and an
annual balloon launch. The venue also provides refreshments, snacks and displays
the work of more than hundred artisans. Other major tourist attractions are Big
Toys Amusement & Theme Park and Kart 2 Kart. The city also includes Saint Thomas
Church, Saint Blasé Church and Saint Basil Church.

Life magazine as the “Best Places to Raise a Family” (2008). It ranks as the
safest city in Michigan based on 2007 FBI statistics. The Sterling Heights' City
Center is one of America's Great Community Places and Public Spaces. The city
has won national recognition for its "Sidewalk Inspection Program" which uses
meter readers to report hazardous sidewalk conditions. The official city motto
of is “To Strive on Behalf of all”. The official flower of Sterling Heights is
Lavender Rose and the official tree is Chanticleer Pear.
Sterling Heights has two main highways - The M-53 highway, commonly called as
Van Dyke Avenue or the Van Dyke Expressway which leads north into the Thumb and
the M-59 highway which is the east-west connector from just north of Mount
Clemens, through Utica.
Demographic Information
Sterling Heights is a city in Macomb County of the U.S. state
of Michigan. It is the third largest city in area and the fourth largest in
population in the state of Michigan. As per the 2006 census, estimated
population was 127,991, the fourth largest in Michigan. According to the United
States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 36.7 square miles (95.0 km²).
The population density was 3,397.0 per square mile (1,311.6/km²). It is a part
of the Clinton River watershed. It is a home to more than 3,500 commercial and
industrial businesses.
